Hey beautifuls there’s something I want you to know: I told my therapist that I would take an Insta-break while I was on holiday, but I had too many bikinis to share and too many cocktails to stay off my phone. We thought it would be good to have a break, since I’ve posted nearly daily for the last 3 years and although I am SO FREAKING THANKFUL for this community and everything this page has become, it can be incredibly emotionally draining, along with the anxiety of always wanting to give you guys good content, the trolls, and as much as you try to ignore it, the numbers get to you at times as well. Like I said, I’ve never ever taken a break from this, I’ve never wanted to leave you without daily bopo love, I’ve always just wanted to help as much as I possibly can. And I’m having a LOT of mixed feelings about this, but I think it’s time for me to take a few days away from posting. I promise I won’t be gone for long, I love you all way too much to stay away! I just need a little bit of time to refresh, and to exist in the world as Megan for a while, and not bodyposipanda. I’ll be back with a bang (and maybe a don’t hate the shake?), and if you need some extra bopo goodness in your life while I’m away, you can always follow some of these amazing humans: @[email protected] @chooselifewarrior @glitterandlazers @chubbybabe_ @mynameisjessamyn @sitting_pretty @selfloveclubb @dothehotpants @simonemariposa @anastasiaamour @theunedit @thevagaggle @mindsetforlifeltd @bopo.boy @fatwomenofcolor @themilitantbaker @amyeloisew @sassy_latte @whitneywaythore @jewelzjourney @franhayden @thechristinecho @notoriouslydapper @sarevance @sundaesforthesoul @becomingbodypositive @selfloveliv @cupcakethighs @thesassytruth_ @saucyewest @rvbyallegra @thisisjessicatorres @lexiemanion @allisonkimmey @omgkenzieee @myssematch @hantisedeloubli @goofy_ginger @abearnamedtroy @shadeyshay (there are more but can’t think right now – SORRY IF I MISSED YOU OUT! ) LOVE YOU GUYS AND SEE YOU SOON
Megan se dio cuenta que la felicidad no es una talla y por ello comenzó a publicar mensajes positivos en su cuenta de Instagram para crear conciencia de los efectos mortales de la anorexia.
It is possible to find beauty in the softness. It is possible to fall in love with a body that you never believed was worthy of love. It is possible to find peace after spending a lifetime waging war against your body. It is possible to recover. And if I can go from being the girl on the left, terrified, lost, completely consumed by anorexia, to the body positive, belly roll embracing woman I am today, then you can find peace too. P.s. I haven’t posted a recovery picture in a while, because I NEVER want you to think that you have to look like the picture on the left to have an eating disorder. You don’t. EATING DISORDERS COME IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES. And every single one is worthy of recognition and treatment. Eating disorders are mental illnesses, not sizes. But today I realised that it’s nearly 10 years since I was first diagnosed with anorexia. 10 years on, and I’m about to finish writing a book teaching other people how to make peace with their bodies. I didn’t even think that I was going to make it out alive, let alone make it to where I am now. So this is to show that girl on the left how powerful she really is. This is to show her everything that she was capable of. This is to show her that she survived, and not only that, she thrived. I wish I could go back and show her that she had the power to do anything in the whole world all along. So this will have to do. And to everyone who’s still fighting, this is to tell you that I believe in you. #bodypositivepower
“Tú puedes ser feliz con el cuerpo que tienes ahora. No tienes porque cree en todos los prejuicios que la publicidad y la sociedad te hacen creer, tampoco tiene porque alinearte a toda esa nueva cultura de dietas que te dicen que tener un cuerpo delgado resolverá todos tus problemas. No importa como se vea tu cuerpo por fuera, tú mereces que te amen exactamente como eres”.
