Taylor’s younger brother shared how was the childhood and life of the singer before becoming the worldwide success she is today. He is 24 years old, and Austin just graduated last year from Notre Dame University where he studied film and currently he is pursuing his dream to become an actor.
Austin told People magazine the hard work Taylor did in order to reach the career pint where she is today: “When we were kids, I saw Taylor write songs every day for years when there was no one to play them to.”
He said that when he was in elementary school, they used to spend their spring break in Nashville, where he recalls: “I remember watching her go door-to-door dropping off demo CD’s at labels that never called. She was there when she was performing at karaoke contests and in the corners of parties with the same enthusiasm she now plays to stadiums full of her fans. Having seen that example, how much goes in, how long it took … That’s always going to be bedrock for who I am and who I want to be.”
The aspiring actor also spoke about the time when they learned that her mother Andrea had cancer: “An ocean of people rose up around me to offer support and open up about their own experiences. People were there for me and it transformed what could have been a very lonely, impossible time. I’ll never forget that.”
