Renée Zellweger has spent half of her career criticized by her looks. Much of them have been directly related to her roles in the popular film “Bridget Jones.” Which this Friday will be in theaters (the third in its series). The protagonist, as you all know struggled with her weight. She continuously gained and lost pounds to play Bridget Jones.
She would always be asked about her weight on “Bridget” press tours. She found the obsession with the subject sad. So when the public started writing about her off-screen appearance, most noticeable when she attended the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards in 2014, she kept quiet.

But when the Variety piece was published, questioning “whether or not she’d undergone plastic surgery.” She was in London, finishing up dubbing work on“Bridget Jones’s Baby.” She sat down for an interview with a local journalist, who asked her opinion on the column. Renée looked it up and was speechless.

So after many rumors she opened up and wrote a story for the Huffington Post. In it, she said:
“did not make a decision to alter my face and have surgery on my eyes” “I realized, at that point, that if I didn’t comment that it was going to escalate,”
“And I was glad [the Variety critic] made the decision that he made because it did encourage my standing up for myself and discussing some things that I find disheartening.”
