The British model Iskra Lawrence stepped into an NYC subway a couple of days ago to make a point about a problem that has been going on our society: body shaming. Particularly in the industry, she works in.

The majority of us women know that the pressure of society is real, and we feel that if we at thing enough or perfect enough we are good for anyone. That is why conditions as anorexia and bulimia exist. So as Iskra the 26-year-old model decided to do something about it. We don’t know how many passengers were there that day, but she was heard.

We will show you her video, but before here is a quote of what she said: “That is the media; that is society making a small standard of beauty when we are so much more than that. This body is not just something to be objectified, to be grabbed, to be looked at. This is my vessel. This is my home. I respect it. No matter what I’m wearing right now, do not judge me.” quoted by Elite Daily
This is the end of a very special video ????watch the full vid now- link in my bio???? for @highqualityhumanbeings & their @unmuted.tv series…. Now more than ever we need to share our voices. Minorities, POC, women, the LGBTQ+ community, we all have so much power and the more we share, listen & learn from each other we can grow. Hopefully one day we can all live a non judgemental world full of love for one another. Appreciating the value in others and ourselves. Knowing we are equal and choosing to empower each other. It starts rn and it’s the choices we make everyday. S/o to the incredible team???? director @alexandra_gavillet shot by @wendybowman_ produced by @natashagaroosi ILY (you gotta watch the full video to understand y I’m stood there not wearing full clothes)
When she finished everyone applauded Iskra for bravery, and well we just can say not everyone will get naked for truth.
Thank you, Iskra!
