Barack and Michelle Obama championed hope throughout the POTUS 2008 campaign. This legacy carried the pair through two runs for president and the many challenges of leading this country.
In an interview with Oprah, Michelle addressed the question of whether Obama kept his promise of hope to the American people. She eloquently answered: “Yes, I do. Because we feel the difference now. See, now we’re feeling what not having hope feels like, you know? He and I and so many believe that what else do you have if you don’t have hope? What do you give your kids if you can’t give them hope?”
