The 59th Annual Grammy Awards Nominees have been released, with some obvious names at the top (Bey’s historic nominations anyone?), but there were some unexpected names on the list. We’re dishing out the artists scorned this year, as well as some surprise inclusions.
Scorned: Sia had dropped the song of the summer “Cheap Thrills”and “The Greatest”to vibe audiences. We still can’t get the songs out of our heads, but the academy obviously didn’t agree
Surprise Inclusion: Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato; Justin has been nominated for Grammy’s in the past, but this is the first time he steals the show with an Album of the Year nomination for “Purpose”. Demi earned her stripes this year with her first nomination EVER for Best Pop Vocal Album “Confident”.
Scorned: Taylor and Calvin have that ex-factor thing going on. We wonder if producers of the show didn’t want to chance the pair’s awkward acceptance speech for “This Is What You Came For”. Sigh* the world may never know now.
Surprise Inclusion: Rihanna may have lost the nomination for Calvin’s and Swift’s song, but she’s up for 8 nominations, two of which are the most prestigious ones: Record of the Year, and Album of the Year. She ain’t sorry guys.
A woman scorned though… no one would dare exclude Riri. Do you guys think the nominations were fair this year?
