For years Starbucks it’s known for adding pumpkin spice latte to their menu as a signal of the start of the fall season; consequently, we later get the switch of cups by November 1st, that signals the start of the holiday season.

Yet, to everyone’s surprise this year no red cups were seen by November 1st; instead, the cups were green.

Wait, what is this? it’s not red, it’s actually green, and the cup meaning relates to being inclusive. The illustration portrays a large group of diverse people standing closely together. Red cup where are you?
Starbucks chairman and CEO Howard Schultz claimed that the cup is a reminder of our “shared values, and the need to be good to each other.” Schultz also said that during a hostile time in our country the cup was developed as an image of unity.
According to Cosmopolitan, the green cups are just an in between before the actual red cups come along. Also, the green cup statement that was released doesn’t mention anything about the holidays.
