Men rule the world. This applies to every day life, and even to pop icons like Madonna. The Material Girl accepted her “Woman of the year”Award with a moving speech about her experiences with sexism.
Madge opened up about her struggle in New York City before her career took off, where she was raped, robbed so often she stopped locking the door, and lost almost every friend to gun violence and AIDS.
She alluded that male artists had more Artistic freedom than females saying; “‘Wait a minute, isn’t Prince running around with fishnets and high heels and lipstick with his butt hanging out?’ Yes, he was. But he was a man.”
The end of her speech was dedicated to the F***Boys that obstructed her rise to fame: “Your resistance made me stronger, made me push harder, made me the fighter that I am today. It made me the woman that I am today. So thank you.”
Girl Power forever Madge! Is she a sex icon even for the millennials?
