The University of North Caroline faces major accusations from a female student, who states she was raped by a UNC football player, and she calls out delays on holding her attacker accountable.
“I did everything a rape victim is supposed to do. I reported it. I allowed the rape kit to be taken. I gave a statement. I cooperated with law enforcement and the Tittle IX office. But six months later the University has done nothing.”
The incident happened to UNC Sophomore Delaney Robinson, earlier this year on Valentine’s Day. Robinson’s attorney, Denise Branch said that:
“For more than six months we have asked the University and the Orange Country District Attorney’s office to hold Delaney’s rapist accountable for his actions. At every turn, we have been met with discouragement and delay”.
According to Branch, the accused rapist have been treated with better considerations because he is an athlete.
“Treatment of my client compared to the accused is startling”
We look forward to Robinson gaining justice in this unfair case and we hopefully expect less news like these across the country.
